Spring Wish

IMG_1384

I had been eyeballing this dress for a while on eShakti but since they decided to stop shipping to Canada (we’ll just ignore that brief two week period where they offered it again) I thought I would try out Bongo. The service was great but it turned out to be much more expensive then I had originally anticipated in the long run. They do have a calculator/estimation tool but I really had no idea what my package dimensions and weight would be and it turns out I guessed completely wrong. So...

Just a dash of black

5520710883_6e07cb32cd_m

Every now and then I like to give myself a mini challenge where I force myself to wear something that has been languishing in my closet. You see this particular dress is actually much longer  and unfortunately when I wear it at its full length I feel awkward. I just feel that the proportions are all off for me. So, after playing with it for a bit I remember seeing Audi do some amazing things with shifting dresses around and securing them with belts. I thought what the hell and after a few...

Come in Closer

This outfit was completely built around the gorgeous scarf that I picked up last year. I am admittedly a scarf-a-holic but I normally buy cheap scarves while out thrifting, rarely spending more then $15 on any one scarf. This particular scarf, however, I had noticed it at Winners one day as I was walking out of the store and it literally stopped me in my tracks. I think it was during a time when I was trying to branch out of my red black and white rut and this silky soft gem with its blues...

My take on the “secretary” look

5362908592_832a0a88ae_b

While I listen to the “tap tap” of water leaking from the roof in our spare bedroom I thought I would take my mind off of all the damage and post an outfit I wore a while ago. I have a couple of outfits sitting in my “to post” folder but I think this is one of my favourites. I am a sucker for the black, red and grey colour palette, and when I found this scarf at a local Value Village for $1.00 I had to have it. I picked up the sweater at Torrid a few months earlier but...

Cinemacabre Movie Night

IMG_8649

Every month, Rue Morgue, the magazine my husband Art Directs, has a movie night they they call “Cinemacabre“. This month, the movie was “Street Trash“. A pure B movie, with no character development, but some pretty gruesome gore scenes. Because I was meeting Gary directly after work, I had to make sure my outfit could go from a day of client meetings to an evening that included dinner, the role of ticket taker and a movie. I knew that I wanted to wear my new red boots...
