Wardrobe Diary: Winter Garden

IMG_4664

♦ Dress: Dorothy Perkins ♦ Scarf: Desigual ♦ Tights: We Love Colors ♦ Boots: Fluevog ♦ Belt: Addition-Elle ♦ I took these slightly wobbly photos in February, I can’t even blame being drunk since it was a work night but hey at least you get to see one of my favourite outfits this winter. I was lucky that we had a very mild winter here in Toronto because it meant I did not have to pull out the down jacket more than twice. And while not looking like a burnt marshmallow is...

Rainy Day Flowers

IMG_1824

I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago when we were hit with what felt like weeks of constant rain. Despite the dreary day, I decided however that I wanted a pop of colour but nothing too vibrant and this jacket was just the trick. I picked this up at Forever21 last year, I think, and I love everything about it. The portrait colour, 3/4 length sleeves, the flared silhouette…well you get the picture. I am almost tempted to learn how to sew just so I can make more jackets following...

Spring Wish

IMG_1384

I had been eyeballing this dress for a while on eShakti but since they decided to stop shipping to Canada (we’ll just ignore that brief two week period where they offered it again) I thought I would try out Bongo. The service was great but it turned out to be much more expensive then I had originally anticipated in the long run. They do have a calculator/estimation tool but I really had no idea what my package dimensions and weight would be and it turns out I guessed completely wrong. So...

Come in Closer

This outfit was completely built around the gorgeous scarf that I picked up last year. I am admittedly a scarf-a-holic but I normally buy cheap scarves while out thrifting, rarely spending more then $15 on any one scarf. This particular scarf, however, I had noticed it at Winners one day as I was walking out of the store and it literally stopped me in my tracks. I think it was during a time when I was trying to branch out of my red black and white rut and this silky soft gem with its blues...

Turning 35 is not so bad

A new year

This first outfit is what I decided to wear on my 35th birthday kicking around Amsterdam with the man I love. Which was the perfect way to celebrate a significant milestone for me.   In the months leading up to my birthday I had begun to feel that the focus in our lives was starting to shift. And now there is no denying it, we are taking a turn in an unknown direction which is exciting but also a bit scary for me because I hate not knowing what may lie ahead. Normally I would be in a quiet...
