Wordpress 2.2 has issues with K2

If you’re using an older version of K2 as your theme you’ll find that when you upgrade to Wordpress 2.2 you’ll receive an error and your blog won’t load. The reason for this is the nifty built in widgets that Wordpress 2.2 now supports conflicts with older versions of K2. You can fix this by overriding WordPress’ built in widets using a plugin created by Darrell Schulte.

I’ve installed this plugin for now, but I think I’ll be working on upgrading my K2 theme or creating my own from scratch that will support native widgets. Looks like I found my Sunday afternoon project. Nothing more satisfying then updating the plumbing when it starts to leak.
