Beautiful but eerie images

I came across this article in Wired today: Fuzzy Photos Make Strong Images where they talk about the photography of Matthew Pillsbury. Of course they did not provide a picture of his amazing photography so a quick search led me to his site: Matthew Pillsbury – Screen Lives

His photos are eerie and simply stunning. I would love to figure out how to do this with my camera.
