I’m finally organized

I just spent the entire weekend unpacking, putting up shelves, arranging and re-arranging. It’s been quite eventful but as of right now the shelves are up in my bedroom in my office area displaying my faerie and Scare Bears collection with a scattering of masks, devil and unicorn. I’m such a geek. My books are split between the living room and my bedroom (with a shelf and a half just waiting for growth), the hallway is covered with art and the front hall closet is now nicely organized. I’m tired but extremely pleased with myself. Now the only thing remaining is to go through my pictures with Gary and decide which ones we want to print and hang on the other side of our bedroom. We plan on surrounding ourselves with pictures of our friends, family and us…I can’t think of a better way to start the morning.

One thing that I realized while I went through all my old boxes is that I keep almost anything sentimental. If an ex wrote me a letter or gave me a card…I still have it. It was strange reading words that were meant for me 5-10 years ago. I especially found quite a few things from Frank and my box of letters from Steve before I moved out to Colorado. I felt almost guilty reading some of these letters and cards, like I was doing something wrong even though I know that is silly.

Still, I had to put my box of memories away. I want to save them for another day when I feel more prepared for facing this skewed version of my past where only kind and loving words were spoken.
