High Park – Toronto’s Treasure

Since moving to the Junction a few months ago I’ve been meaning to go to High Park with Gary and Pandora. Unfortunately, something always seems to come up so I’ve never been. Today, however, with Gary working due to production and the fact that I have a day off work I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and explore High Park. After lunch with Gary, I packed some snacks for the pup and headed on down to the park.

I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but it was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t even remember the last time I found myself surrounded by trees with only the hum of insects and Pandora running through the trees to reach my ears. We explored the park for two hours and it ended with us finding a clearing where Pandora did her freak out run and I relaxed in the grass watching the clouds drift in the sky. I felt like I was 10 again explore the woods by my grandmother’s house.

I think I’ve found the destination for my early morning weekend walks with the pup and if you live in Toronto and haven’t been to High Park I highly recommend you go.

    I love high park. It’s funny, I rarely went too, but when I did I always kicked myself for not going more!

    There’s a big leash-free area in there somewhere too — more over to the Keele side, I think.

    Shannon: Considering I can walk there I really need to start making a point of going at least once every weekend.

    Robyn: Actually that was the area I walked Pandora and she loved it. I was actually surprised she didn’t try to take off once!
