Usually my silence online means that my life has become insanely busy and this last little while has been no exception. So I’ll try to do my best to let everyone know what has been going on in my little world.
Two weekends ago was Memorial day weekend. Gary and I went with Vince and Shauna to Vince’s parent’s cottage off of Lake Huron I believe. It was absolutely gorgeous and I really got the chance to know Vince and Shauna, which was hard to do because they live in Guelph. I knew I liked them, but I seriously adore them in all of their sarcastic glory.
The only problem with the weekend was when I ended up in the hospital on Sunday night because of my asthma. In a nutshell I was unable to breathe all day Sunday due to the bonfire smoke. I went to the hospital and my oxygen level was at 85% when it should obviously be at 100%. Three hours later and after a few Darth Vader impressions with my oxygen mask we were able to go back to the cottage. Vince and Shauna, as well as his parents, were amazing to me during that time. I really appreciate it.
As a side effect of going to the hospital I have quit smoking. I have not had a cigarette since that Saturday night so as of today it has been 15 days since my last smoke. Yes I have had a couple of drags, and one last night but it almost made me puke so I think I’m over it. The trick is not to end up as a huge cow like the last time I quit smoking. So I’ve been going for more walks, trying not to overeat and tomorrow I start on my gym routine again. I want to be healthy. I don’t care about my weight or even my size so much, I just want to feel like I can go jogging or run up a flight of stairs. I want to feel good.
My only downfall is I am now addicted to popsicles and I’m not giving them up for the summer. You will have to pry them out of my dead cold hands so back off.
What else is new? I had my sisters, my sister’s boyfriend, mom and grandmother over to see the new place. They loved it even though my mom of course pointed out the things that were wrong with it. She loved the new couch we bought and she was especially fond of our pinup theme kitchen.
We decided to forgo buying a new air conditioner for a few reasons (hose was not long enough to reach up to the windows, it would be a huge unsightly monster in our living room and we would have to buy a big stand to put it on, etc) and will try surviving with just some fans this summer. I think we’ll be able to do it and plus it’s cheaper then the $700+ air conditioning unit plus hydro.
I also dyed my hair blue/black. I adore it and pictures will come once I get a camera.
Gary and I are going on a company paid trip to Montreal on Thursday and are returning on Sunday and I can’t wait for that! It’s going to be so much fun…woho!
Work is going great, I love my new apartment, living with Gary is an absolute dream, Pandora is doing wonderful, overall I’m very very happy.
Oh and the new Peeping Tom CD is kick ass!
