Concerts

Last night was amazing :) The Dresden Dolls opened up and I loved their cover of Karma Police. They definitely had stage presence but the only thing that annoyed me a bit was the fact that the guy kept making these exaggerated faces. Very mime like. I *get* the concept as to why he was doing it, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Of course they were nothing compared to Nine Inch Nails. My god, when Trent walked on stage the place went wild. He is a true entertainer and really knew how to put on a show they kept you riveted the entire time. The venue was small enough that even if you stood at the back you would still be able to see his sweat soaked body clearly. I’m an old school gal, so of course I nuts when he played Hurt and Head like a whole. Beautifully done. Those are the types of concerts I love. A small venue and an amazing show. I hate concerts at huge venues. It makes me feel like I should stay at home and watch a music video.

I did learn two valuable lessons that night, however, despite how wonderful the show was. First, wear shoes that I am going to be comfortable standing in for four hours. My feet and knees are killing me. I’ll be wearing my fluevog flats tonight. Second, give myself at least half an hour to an hour to slowly tie up my corset. I actually got exasperated with poor Gary and it wasn’t his fault at all considering it was his first time trying to do one of those suckers up.

In other news, I got my raise today and it will be retroactive. Go me :)

Tonight I’m going to see the Horrorpops. I need a nap in a big way. And oddly enough I just got hit with an overwhelming wave of tiredness so I’m going to go and have lunch now.
