Outside the comfort zone

This year I decided that I would give shorts another shot at winning my heart. We had broken up some time in the early 90′s during the era of grunge when all I needed were some ripped jeans to feel sassy. And honestly, the shorts available in Canada for an inbetweenie teenage girl were pretty unattractive.

Over the last few months I have seen other fashionable ladies wearing shorts and I was inspired. I still could not find anything I liked in Canada so I waited for a sale on City Chic and scored a few pairs that were the right length and fit fairly well. Of the three pairs I ordered these black military inspired ones were my favourite and the most versatile.

The first few times I wore them I felt like I was taking a big step outside my comfort zone but I have fallen in love.  I am already envisioning so many outfit possibilities with them this fall and winter. I have to admit that even though they are a lot of fun I don’t think I would would feel comfortable wearing them to work. But, for a karaoke birthday party for one of the most rockin’ ladies I know I felt pretty slammin’.

Ohh! I love this outfit! Me and shorts are the same, I’ve picked up a pair from City Chic, and we are slowly bonding, it’s a step out of my normal comfort zone, but I’m looking forward to the addiction of versatility in summer!

Congrats on stepping outside your comfort zone! Love it, and I’m loving the rocker feel of this outfit!
