This year I decided that I would give shorts another shot at winning my heart. We had broken up some time in the early 90’s during the era of grunge when all I needed were some ripped jeans to feel sassy. And honestly, the shorts available in Canada for an inbetweenie teenage girl were pretty unattractive.

Over the last few months I have seen other fashionable ladies wearing shorts and I was inspired. I still could not find anything I liked in Canada so I waited for a sale on City Chic and scored a few pairs that were the right length and fit fairly well. Of the three pairs I ordered these black military inspired ones were my favourite and the most versatile.

The first few times I wore them I felt like I was taking a big step outside my comfort zone but I have fallen in love.  I am already envisioning so many outfit possibilities with them this fall and winter. I have to admit that even though they are a lot of fun I don’t think I would would feel comfortable wearing them to work. But, for a karaoke birthday party for one of the most rockin’ ladies I know I felt pretty slammin’.

Ohh! I love this outfit! Me and shorts are the same, I’ve picked up a pair from City Chic, and we are slowly bonding, it’s a step out of my normal comfort zone, but I’m looking forward to the addiction of versatility in summer!

It took me about a month until I felt comfortable enough to just throw them on and leave…but in time I am sure you will love them! 🙂

Congrats on stepping outside your comfort zone! Love it, and I’m loving the rocker feel of this outfit!
