Sick Day

Last Monday I woke up feeling a little bit under the weather. Nothing too serious at first but as I was getting ready things took a turn for the worst. Rather then bring my sick self into work and make everyone else miserable I decided to work from home that day instead. Before I crawled back into my pajamas though I took a few shots of what I was planning to wear to work.  I figure *someone* should have a chance to see this cute new dress!

My Mom actually picked this dress out during a shopping trip last weekend. She tried it on but did not like it so I thought I would give it a shot, and I kind of fell in love with it.  All the horizontal stripes had me a bit worried but I just adored the designs they make when they drape from the waist. It is pretty comfy and has a beautifully wide handkerchief hem but I admit that the lining is a bit tight for me so I may take it out, I am undecided. I really love the full skirt though and the fact that it is wide enough to allow me to throw on my crinoline. I think maybe the sweater added a bit too much bulk to the top half of the outfit but it was a pretty chilly day so I needed it.

I actually wore the dress and crinoline again today to go and see the play Ghost Stories but unfortunately I have no pictures until I charge my camera battery.  I switched out pretty much everything else, and I think it gave the outfit more of a spring vibe that emphasized the smaller waist compared to the fullness of the crinoline skirt. Don’t worry though, I am certain I will wear it again soon so I’ll be sure to snap a photo to share.
