Last Saturday night was Sean’s birthday party and after some pre drinks and pub grub at Disgraceland, we headed for some Karaoke in a private room. I find we are starting to do this more often for birthday’s and it is always a blast. I do find it a bit intimidating sometimes though when we go with people who play in a band for a living. Luckily our friends encourage the good, the bad and the cheesy so it was a great night.
Originally I had a completely different outfit planed around wearing these tights, with crocheted fishnets, new black shorts and my teal leopard print tank. And then I ditched because I was afraid that I would have saggy butt syndrome half way through the night. So I planned another outfit around the tights and decided on this polka dot dress I picked up last year from eShakti. The dress worked great with the tights and it helped that it was already wrinkle free.
I paired it with my TUK wedges that I only ever wear when I think I am not going to to be doing much walking for the night. Turned out I was wrong on Saturday, but the 10 block walk wasn’t too bad. I am just afraid of scratching the shoes up because I am very rough on my heels and I want these to last. To balance the colour of the tights with the top half of my outfit I wore my feathered fascinator/hair clip. Although now that I think of it, the colours in my tattoo would have been enough to tie the into the colours of the tights.
It was still too chilly at night to not wear a jacket, so I decided to try my hand at a bit of pattern mixing and grabbed my black and cream houndstooth, wool blazer. I liked the 3/4 length sleeves but the waist of the blazer does not really match up well with the high waist of the dress but it was not too obvious when worn open which is how I wore it for most of the night.
