Traveling to Amsterdam
When we were going to Amsterdam I knew that I wanted to try and wear my comfiest outfit for the flight there. We were taking the red eye and I had grand illusions that I would sleep on the way there so that I would feel awake and refreshed to start exploring when we arrived. Instead I ended up dozing sporadically, watched movies I can never seem to recall and arrived in Amsterdam and decided to take a six hour “nap”. I was a bit disappointed in myself but the same thing happened when we went to Ireland in 2009 so I really should not be surprised.
But enough about my inability to cope with red eye flights, this is what I wore on the way there with the exception that i had a burgundy scarf to add a bit of colour which I forgot to wear for the photos. My boots were actually the only pair of shoes I wore my entire trip and I love them. I wore them all around Ireland and Scotland for my honeymoon and now they have travelled through the streets of Amsterdam. I wonder where else these boots will take me.
The cardigan, leggings, and tank top felt like something I would easily wear when I lounge around my apartment on a Sunday. The over the knee socks were a life saver they added just a touch more warmth to my legs and broke up the sea of black. Speaking of OTK socks I picked up these socks in a few different colours from sock dreams. I love all of them but I have not been wearing them as much as I thought. I think I need to experiment with them a bit more than just wearing them with a tunic and leggings. Maybe try them out with some short dresses and tights. Hmm….

It should be illegal to look that good in your comfiest outfit. Especially as I can imagine what a little burgundy did to it. Hehe, yeah, I’m familiar with those illusions.
Thanks Veronica! Maybe one day I’ll just accept that a red eye flight for means sacrificing a day of the vacation…but really snuggling up next to my hubby for a nap is never really that much of a sacrifice
